Newborn residency process in Dubai
For a baby born in the UAE, the practical order is: obtain the UAE birth certificate, arrange the baby's passport, apply for the newborn residence permit, then complete the Emirates ID application. QuickDocs UAE can help with document checks and online application typing for the residency and Emirates ID stages.
Documents commonly needed
- Baby's birth certificate and passport, as applicable
- Parents' passports, visas and Emirates IDs
- Marriage certificate
- Sponsor's accommodation and salary documents, as applicable
Complete the newborn residence within four months
UAE immigration law requires the newborn's identity documents and residence to be arranged within four months from the date of birth. An administrative fine can apply after that period, so it is better to start the birth certificate and passport steps early.
Family sponsorship salary
AED 4,000 is the clear customer-facing minimum we use for a salaried resident sponsoring a spouse or child. Cases below AED 4,000 should be checked individually rather than assuming eligibility from a labour contract showing AED 3,000.
